WALTHAM ON THE WOLDS
Waltham on the Wolds village is located in the north-east corner of Leicestershire in the East Midlands. It lies 5 miles north-east of Melton Mowbray and 11 miles south-west of Grantham, Lincolnshire on the main A607 road.
Situated on a ridge overlooking the Vale of Belvoir, many of the properties were owned by the Duke of Rutland’s Belvoir Estate until 1921 when they were sold.
Waltham has a traditional country pub, the Royal Horseshoes dating back to the mid 15th Century. The Royal Horseshoes prides itself with producing freshly prepared quality handmade meals, including delicious Sunday roasts. At certain times of the year breakfast is offered on Saturday mornings but do please check their website.
Waltham also has a post office with convenience store selling groceries and newspapers and The Vale hair salon.
The Royal Horseshoes is located to the north of the village and takes approximately 18 minutes on foot.
