The Hideaway is a unique bucolic glamping experience where you can choose from our 10 hand made shepherd huts nestled around 2 established fishing lakes. Four of the shepherd huts are situated closer to the lakeside whereas others are located in a more elevated position overlooking the fishing lakes and surrounding Leicestershire countryside.
With such a quiet and tranquil setting it is possible to see wildlife, such as rabbits and hares bounding across the fields and ducks, geese and moorhens at the water’s edge. Other wild birds can be spotted too, with red kites flying overhead or you may hear the gentle tap tap of a woodpecker. ‘At one with nature’ was how one guest described their stay.
‘We were awakened by the sound of songbirds every morning in a quiet and idyllic setting’ was another guest’s comment, much to the delight of the Fair Farm Team.
For insurance purposes we are an adult only site and we have a 2 night minimum stay policy although on very rare occasions we are able to accommodate a one-night stay by arrangement. Please contact us.
Each of our shepherd huts have their own private Scandinavian style wood fired hot tub, with complimentary wood, kindling and firelighters provided. All shepherd huts benefit from a raised outside decking area and wifi is available throughout the site. Three of the shepherd huts, Lincoln Longwool, Kerry Hill and Badger Face have a full sized oven.
A total of five of our shepherd huts are dog-friendly, namely JACOB, MASHAM, LINCOLN LONGWOOL, RYELAND & BORDER LEICESTER (CHARGES APPLY)
There is ample car parking adjacent to the Hideaway, with metal trolleys available for guests to transport their luggage from their vehicles to their shepherd hut. A map of the site greets you as you enter the site to enable you to locate your shepherd hut * with ease with lamp posts lighting the pathways.
We are often told by guests that they have booked their hut at the Hideaway looking for, ‘something a bit different, something special’ and we have received some wonderful reviews ‘The most perfect couple's weekend away’ and ‘It's so peaceful, you can lose hours staring into the fields, looking up at the stars in the evening and relaxing in the outdoor hot tub’ and describing the location as ‘absolutely dreamy’
Our shepherd huts are equipped with the following,
- SLEEPING AREA – Built in double bed with pillows, duvet, blanket and linen provided. There are reading lights and a wall mounted TV positioned at the end of the bed.
- KITCHEN – Fridge with mini freezer, microwave, 2 ring electric hob, toaster, kettle & coffee machine with pods. All cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans are provided. There is an electric heating system built into the skirting board under the kitchen cupboards.
- ENSUITE – Toilet, hand basin, shower. 2 x flannels, 2 x hand towels, 2 x bath towels, 2 x hot tub towels are provided . Mini toiletries are also provided
- OUTSIDE – Raised decking area over a paved patio area, bistro style metal table & 2 chairs with a Scandinavian style wood fired hot tub and BBQ (all subject to weather conditions).
